About the teacher
Becky Kilimnik
Becky has been playing violin for over 40 years and teaching violin professionally since 2001. She has performed with multiple orchestras and rock & folk bands throughout the U.S.
Becky incorporates Suzuki principles into her teaching style without following a strict Suzuki method. Her goal is for students to enjoy their instruments and play to their strengths. Because of her experience playing a variety of different musical styles, she recognizes that there are multiple ways to enjoy playing the violin. Her goal is for her students to cultivate a genuine love of their instrument and not see playing or practicing as a chore.
Becky also puts a lot of focus into making sure playing and practicing is pain-free. A lot of musicians develop chronic injuries due to their instrument She ensures her student hold their instruments in a way that is both correct and won’t cause injury.
